Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is rolling out a patient reported outcomes assessment platform that will gather valuable information across the entire spectrum of its orthopedic care providers.
The Musculoskeletal Translational Innovation and Initiative (MTII) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Carl J. Shapiro Department of Orthopaedic Surgery creates an environment to foster and promote disruptive and innovative solutions for medical care, regardless of specialty field, to be translated into medical devices, clinical protocols, therapeutics, or diagnostics.
The Bouxsein group employs a multidisciplinary strategy with state-of-the-art technologies to study the causes, detection and treatment of skeletal fragility. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the burden of fractures due to osteoporosis and other bone disorders.
Research led by Anna Modest, PhD, MPH, and Naima Joseph, MD, MPH, demonstrates the link between pregnancy-associated homicides and suicides with mental health conditions, substance use disorders and intimate partner violence, and highlights opportunities for intervention.
In this new Harvard Medical School role, Dr. Dalrymple will oversee and support three associate deans focused on faculty development, curriculum, and assessment and evaluation.

Ruma Bose, MD received a grant from the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research for her project, “Developing proficiency in rescue echo guided crisis management using a modular competency-based curriculum for advanced learners in anesthesia.” These 2-year $100,000 grants advance the knowledge of anesthesiologists in techniques of anesthesiology education.
