Dr. Barouch, Director of the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research, was elected for his international leadership in virology and immunology, and for developing novel vaccines and cure strategies for viruses such as COVID-19, the Zika virus, and mosaic HIV-1.
Drs. Molly Hayes (Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine) and Somnath Bose (Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Management), implemented the Three Wishes Project to make the critical care environment a more humanistic place for patients, families, and staff.

The Musculoskeletal Translational Innovation and Initiative (MTII) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Carl J. Shapiro Department of Orthopaedic Surgery creates an environment to foster and promote disruptive and innovative solutions for medical care, regardless of specialty field, to be translated into medical devices, clinical protocols, therapeutics, or diagnostics.
