Pathology Launches Flow Cytometry Lab
The Pathology Department has implemented state of the art flow cytometers, FACSLyric instruments, to provide complex flow cytometry analysis for improved patient diagnosis. The new laboratory is located on the East Campus (Rabb 331.1).
This diagnostic modality is essential for the diagnosing and monitoring of acute leukemia, lymphoma, plasma cell myeloma and other hematologic disorders. On-site testing allows for more rapid and comprehensive testing, opportunities for new test method development, reduction in turnaround times, and more seamless patient management.
The laboratory is also focusing on diagnostic approaches for the detection of minimal residual disease and evaluation of target markers useful for the application of novel immunotherapy.
