An Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a Hospitalist in the Division of General Medicine, Dr. Vanka is an exemplary and thoughtful educator with a wealth of experience who will continue to foster our residents to become future leaders in medicine.

Richard Schwartzstein, MD, FACP, has been recognized with the Jane F. Desforges Distinguished Teacher Award from the American College of Physicians. Established in 1968, the award is bestowed upon a FACP or MACP who has demonstrated the ennobling qualities of a great teacher as judged by the accomplishments of former students.
