Kenneth Mukamal, MD, MPH, MA, has assumed the role of Vice Chair for Career Development and Mentoring for the Department of Medicine. A 32-year faculty member and Associate Section Chief for Research in the Division of General Medicine, Dr. Mukamal will support the career growth of our faculty at all levels, accomplished through one-on-one academic counseling sessions, re-evaluation of the annual review and mentorship processes in our Divisions, and continued implementation of an equitable and transparent approach to academic promotion across the Department. Elizabeth Norian, MD, a primary care physician with Healthcare Associates received the 2026 HMFP Outstanding Physician Colleague Award. She was one of 11 physicians selected, and one of 90 nominees named. All were nominated by their peers, and the award recognizes the deeply valued efforts of HMFP, Longwood Specialty Physicians, and Physician Performance physicians who have gone above and beyond in support of a colleague to offer guidance, encouragement, or assistance, during a time of personal or professional need. We are delighted to announce that Eileen Reynolds, MD, MACP, Chief of the Division of General Medicine, has been named the Richard A. and Florence Koplow - James L. Tullis Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Field of General Medicine and Primary Care at Harvard Medical School. This is the first Harvard chair in Primary Care and General Medicine.
