We are pleased to welcome Danna Biala, MD, RD, MBA, IBCLC, to the Department of Neonatology. As part of our Cochran Newborn Service, she is working with patients, families, and medical students.

Dr. Biala earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration at Brandeis University. She went on to complete her pediatric residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and, most recently, cared for newborns at the Montefiore Einstein newborn nursery in the East Bronx, New York.

Dr. Biala also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biology from Brandeis University. Prior to medical school, she pursued nutrition as a graduate student and worked as a registered dietitian in long-term care and subacute rehabilitation settings, as well as in consulting.

Her professional interests include medical education, infant nutrition, and breastfeeding support and education. She has been certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2023.
