New headache medicine book addresses epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment guidelines, and novel therapies
Sait Ashina, MD, assistant professor of Neurology and Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and director of the Comprehensive Headache Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, has published Headache and Facial Pain Medicine.
The book is a comprehensive, practical guide for physicians covering everything from epidemiology and diagnosis to treatment guidelines and novel therapies in headache medicine. It also includes important topics like managing headaches in special populations, ethical issues, addressing headaches in sexual and gender marginalized groups, and racial and ethnic disparities in treatment.
