Megha Gupta, MD, MSc, Awarded the Harvard Medical School Faculty Fellowship
Megha Gupta, MD, MSc, of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, was recently awarded the Harvard Medical School Faculty Fellowship through Harvard Medical School’s Office of Culture and Community Engagement, a two-year award supporting her research career.
Dr. Gupta’s research, “Role of Cardiac and Inferior Vena Cava Point-of-Care Ultrasound for Peripartum Hemodynamic Assessment and Early Detection of Postpartum Hemorrhage Decompensation,” is a multidisciplinary project that is a collaboration between OB Anesthesiology and Critical Care. The research aims to evaluate whether point-of-care cardiac and inferior vena cava ultrasound can improve hemodynamic assessment during the peripartum period and help identify early clinical deterioration in patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage, with the goal of enabling earlier intervention and improving maternal outcomes.
