Jesse Wei, MD, Appointed Inaugural Vice Chair for Radiology Informatics and Systems Operations
Jesse Wei, MD, has been appointed as the inaugural Vice Chair for Radiology Informatics and Systems Operations. Wearing many hats, Dr. Wei currently serves as our Clinical Director of Radiology Informatics, Clinical Director of CT Services, Fellowship Director of Abdominal Imaging, and Course Director of the Abdominal Imaging & Peer Learning Conference Series, in addition to holding the academic title of Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.
In this new leadership position, Dr. Wei will oversee our rapidly expanding portfolio of data and information technologies and systems, our expanding affiliate site interconnections, the burgeoning requirements of managing the IT infrastructure and hardware at a major academic medical center, and the integration of AI and related software solutions into our operational workflow.
Dr. Wei has masterfully led multiple large-scale IT efforts in these domains to deliver secure, reliable, and timely data access to our Radiology and multidisciplinary colleagues. Most recently, he served as the OneBILH Epic Subject Matter Expert and Physician Liason for Diagnostic Radiology during the conversion of our hospital’s electronic medical record system to Epic. In partnership with Seth Berkowitz, MD, and our incredible in-house IT team, Dr. Wei translated the workflow, safety, communication, reporting, and clinical needs of our department to our network and vendor’s build team, among many other responsibilities.
