James Rawson, MD, Awarded 2025 Association of Academic Radiology Gold Medal

We are proud to announce that James (Jim) Rawson, MD, FAAR, was honored with a Gold Medal at the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Association of Academic Radiology (AAR) in Los Angeles. Dr. Rawson has served many roles for the AAR, including:

  • AAR President (2020-2021)
  • Chair, Long-Range Planning Committee
  • Guest Co-Editor, “Adapting and Learning from the COVID-19 Pandemic” publication

One of Dr. Rawson’s themes of his AAR work has been collaboration, which has resulted in his co-founding of the ACR-AUR Research Scholar Program with Rathan Subramaniam, MD, and establishing the following opportunities for radiology researchers and trainees:

  • AAR REF / RAHSR / RRA Venture Fund Grant for Online Statistical Training for Radiology Researchers
  • AAR REF / RAHSR / RRA Venture Fund for Research Mentor Academy
  • ACR / AMSER / APDR Online Teaching Modules for Radiology Residents and Residents

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Rawson on his much-deserved 2025 AAR Gold Medal, which, as the AAR states, “is to be awarded in recognition of unusually distinguished service or contributions to the Association of Academic Radiology, academic radiology, or the field of radiology in general.”
