Alexa B. Kimball, MD, MPH, president and CEO of HMFP received a Women Who Mean Business Award from the Boston Business Journal on Dec. 4 at a Boston Harbor Hotel ceremony. She was one of six honorees who were chosen from 150 nominations. In the roundtable discussion at the event, she noted that since learning about DNA at age 5 from her father, she has always been interested in medicine and science. Read the article.

Alexa B. Kimball, MD, MPH, talks about her early interest in science and medicine. She was also inspired by two women in her family she never met. Her great aunt graduated from medical school around the same time women won the vote, and her grandmother earned a master’s degree in chemistry.
