Dr. Jeffrey Weinstein Appointed Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Vice Chair for Interventional Services at BIDMC/HMFP Radiology
Dr. Jeffrey (Jeff) Weinstein has been appointed Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at BIDMC/HMFP Radiology and Vice Chair for Interventional Services, effective January 1, 2026.
Jeff joined the Interventional Radiology section at BIDMC in 2015. Throughout his tenure, he has balanced a robust clinical practice with continuous and increasing engagement in teaching activities and educational administration, having served as Program Director for the Integrated and Independent Residency programs, and then as Vice Chair of Education and Lifelong Learning since 2024.
Jeff’s clinical activities span the full spectrum of vascular and interventional radiology, and his expertise has made him a sought-after teacher and lecturer on regional and national platforms. As a colleague, he has received multiple recognitions for both clinical innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration—including being one of the inaugural recipients of the Outstanding Physician Colleague Award from Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians.
Across all facets of his professional life, Jeff has been guided by a singular dedication to advancing the quality of patient care, the rigor of medical training, and the future of the interventional radiology specialty.
The Department of Radiology would like to thank Dr. Muneeb Ahmed for the tremendous leadership he has dedicated to the positions of Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Vice Chair for Interventional Services since 2014. Importantly, while Muneeb has officially stepped into his new roles as Chief of the Division of Cancer Radiology at BIDMC and Chair of the Department of Imaging at DFCI, we are fortunate to continue to have him serve as an outstanding Interventional Radiologist within our Department in parallel with his new leadership positions.
Please join us in congratulating Jeff on his well-deserved leadership appointments and in thanking Muneeb for more than a decade of exceptional, high-impact service as Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Vice Chair for Interventional Services. Finally, we recognize and thank our colleague, Dr. Sal Faintuch, for stepping up as Interim Chief of Vascular & Interventional Radiology during this transitional period.
