Congratulations to Matthew Heron, MBBS MSc FRCA MHQS, and Florina Geok Cheng Ong, MBBS FRCA MHQS, who have graduated this June from Harvard Medical School’s Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety program.

Over the past two years, Drs. Heron and Cheng have balanced clinical practice in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine while gaining expertise in healthcare quality, patient safety, systems improvement, and leadership. They joined BIDMC as part of the Executive Scholars Program in Quality & Safety, bringing with them extensive experience in these areas from leading institutions in the United Kingdom. Throughout their fellowship, they have contributed to our department’s mission of advancing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

A special congratulations to Dr. Heron, whose capstone project was recognized with a Best Capstone Award—an achievement that reflects the quality of his work and his commitment to improving patient care.
