Celebrating Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026

This year’s celebration featured a range of events that highlighted the strength and spirit of the department, including shared meals and snacks, raffles, and educational opportunities. The week featured faculty lectures:

• Dr. Rich Haspel, “Looking Back to Move Forward: Race and Transfusion Medicine”
• Dr. Robert Willem, “Sysmex: From Purple Top to Desktop”
• Dr. Stefan Reidel, “To Microbiology and Beyond: Microbes in Space”

Other highlights were the popular online lab trivia game and the ice cream sundae bar to close out the week. These activities provided an opportunity to recognize not only the technical excellence of our laboratory professionals, but also our collaboration, resilience, and ongoing commitment to high-quality patient care.
