2026 HMS Pathology Research Retreat
Pathologists from across Harvard Medical School (HMS) institutions of BIDMC, Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), Mass General Hospital (MGH), and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) gave presentations, shared research insights, and contributed to a poster session during the annual 2026 HMS Pathology Research Retreat on May 29 at Simmons College. Vikram Deshpande, MD, BIDMC Department of Pathology Interim Chair, welcomed everyone and introduced the speakers. Andy Beck, MD, PhD, was the keynote, presenting “The Platform Era in Pathology: Why AI, Drug Development, and Diagnostics are Converging.” He is the chief executive officer, co-founder of PathAI and previously he was on the faculty of HMS in the BIDMC Department of Pathology at BIDMC. He has published over 110 papers in the fields of cancer biology, cancer pathology, and biomedical informatics.
Other participants included:
